X-Men: Gold #30 is a clear example of how the endgame will dictate whether a story will succeed or fail. Unfortunately for X-Men: Gold #30 it turns out to be the latter as the end result with Colossus and Kitty Pryde’s marriage damages everything that came before and after failed ceremony. It’s to the point that you wonder what the point of all the hype and time spent in this series with how things ended up in X-Men: Gold #30.Now before I get into the problems with X-Men: Gold #30 there was one positive thing about the story itself. And that positive thing was the short involvement of Jean Grey in this issue. From having an conversation with her older self that made Rachel Grey feel awkward to Jean and Cyclops talking about where their future selves had their wedding, it worked as Guggenheim desired. It was so well done that it makes you wish we got more than the short two panels that were written involving the two Jean Grey’s, Cyclops and Rachel Grey.
