COMIC-CON 2017: EL CROSSOVER DE LOS X-MEN 'MOJO WORLDWIDE' TENDRÁ 'GRANDES CONSECUENCIAS'

Mojo está de vuelta.

Por IGN LATINOAMÉRICA. Marc Guggenheim reveló algunos detalles del crossover 'Mojo Worldwide', el cual reunirá a los equipos de X-Men Blue y X-Men Gold por primera vez desde su re-lanzamiento.

Teniendo en cuenta el amor de Guggenheim y el co-escritor Cullen Bunn por los X-Men, parece apropiado que "Mojo Worldwide" empiece con los dos equipos jugando softball. Esta es una tradición que se remonta a los tiempos de Chris Claremont en Uncanny X-Men. Después de eso, Mojo arriba a la tierra para ver a los X-Men luchar en contra de sus más grandes enemigos en busca de ratings. Esta es una metáfora de los cómics.

Tal y como lo vimos en el arte previo, Dark Phoenix, Apocalypse, Brood y los centinelas de Days of the Future Past están dentro de la lista de villanos que se enfrentarán a los X-Men. Guggenheim explicó que todos los equipos estarán dentro de "escenarios artificiales", pero advirtió que habrá "grandes consecuencias" para ambos grupos. El creativo también mencionó que Ink, un personaje de Young Justice, también aparecerá dentro de la historia. Sin embargo, el gran regreso lo protagonizará Longshot, quien ha estado causado problemas dentro del Mojoverse.

"Mojo Worldwide" se lanzará a finales del año y empezará con X-Men Blue #13.

On the final day of Comic-Con International, Marvel’s ResurrXion panel displayed the mutant ability to be light on new and exciting details about upcoming stories. However, Marc Guggenheim did drop a few hints about the "Mojo Worldwide" crossover that will bring the X-Men Blue and X-Men Gold teams together for the first time since their collective relaunches.

Given Guggenheim and co-writer Cullen Bunn’s obvious love of the classic X-Men stories, it seems appropriate that "Mojo Worldwide" will actually begin with the two teams playing softball. That's a tradition that dates back to the Chris Claremont Uncanny X-Men era. From there, Mojo comes to Earth and pits the X-Men against their greatest foes in a desperate bid for ratings. That’s got to be a metaphor for comics in general.

X-Men: Gold #6 Review by Jason Segarra.

The Sentinel-based A.I.-enabled nanotech storm is laying waste to New York City, and it’s up to the heroes of the Marvel Universe to put a stop to it. Can the combined efforts of the X-Men, the Champions, The Defenders and the Avengers repel this swarming menace? Why is it that the X-Men are the only team with psychics?

In this, the final issue of X-Men: Gold’s second arc, it’s clear that Marc Guggenheim’s agenda is to make brief, tight storylines that aren’t hampered by the necessity to advance a larger meta narrative (barring, possibly, the machinations of Lydia Nance). That’s not the worst plan, but the execution leaves a little to be desired. With such tight pacing, some ideas (read: most ideas) don’t have adequate time to develop, meaning broad character moments are either so poorly built that they feel unearned or are swiftly moved passed and ignored. In all, it leaves each story arc feeling like one of those “Monster of the Week” shows, where most story beats don’t survive past their initial appearance and are barely (if ever) mentioned again.
